SFEMF in association with 23 Five Inc. and the New San Francisco Tape Music Center presents:

EAST MEETS LEFT

at SomArts • 934 Brannan Street • San Francisco

This year's installment of the San Francisco Electronic Music Festival is a five-day event and features artists from both coasts in four evenings of electronic music performances (including one curated by 23 Five) and an evening of tape music (curated by the New San Francisco Tape Center). The live performance evenings (Wednesday July 23-Saturday July 26) include a wide range of electroacoustic computer music, works involving visual media, music combining acoustic instruments with electronics, and innovative mechanical and MIDI performance interfaces. The tape music evening (Sunday July 27) programs new tape works by emerging composers alongside classic works by electronic music pioneers– all performed on a multi-channel diffusion system.

Tickets are $15 General ($9 student/starving) and $40 for a full festival pass. Advance purchases for General Tickets and Festival Passes are available now on this site (through PayPal) and will also soon be available at Aquarius Records (1055 Valencia Street, SF). All tickets are also available at the door. (Please arrive early to insure you get a seat.)
