Outtakes and intakes interact and flow freely through shifting spaces, fueling and fusing elements of two recent releases—OMNII / Multitudes of Venom and music/field recordings created in collaboration with the Cheadle Center for Biodiversity & Ecological Restoration (UC Santa Barbara). Long-time collaborator Alex P. Dupuis contributes video images.

Blevin Blectum (Bevin Kelley) develops sonic sci-fi fantasy in its most decadent technicolor forms. “Her work is a sonic dream of an optimistic (if sometimes disquieting) future-electronic-music fantasia, unspooling like a fever dream of whispers, birdcalls, metallic jangles and florid piano samples, breaking into an alien discotheque, bouncing rhythmic filters” (The Wire). Current projects include an ongoing science/art/music collaboration with UC Santa Barbara’s Cheadle Center for Biodiversity, and an opera of sorts for string quartet, electronics, and voices, commissioned by award-winning author/librettist China Miéville. Bevin is half of fabled early-noughties-era San Francisco punk-electronic duo Blectum From Blechdom. She lives in Willits, CA, on a ridge overlooking another ridge, with a cat.
